Oracle - J.D. Edwards

Bennetts Technologies has recently been approached by Oracle Corporation SA (Pty) Ltd to enter a business partner agreement for selling and implementing the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and JD Edwards World ERP software. Bennett’s Technologies, founded as a JD Edwards business partner in 1995, sold off its JD Edwards operations to Price WaterhouseCoopers in 1999, and since then has focused it’s attentions as a provider of complete IT solutions developing bespoke software for both local and international companies, as well as selling and supporting the hardware platform on which the software will be run.


Although Bennetts Technologies has continued to support existing local companies using the JD Edwards ERP solution since 1995, the partnership with Oracle now allows them to promote and sell the ERP solution to other companies in the East Cape region.


JD Edwards is a World class ERP package providing a complete solution for companies to control their entire operations from Financials to Manufacturing. JD Edwards competes with other ERP products including SAP, Syspro and Navision. Recent revisions by Oracle to their pricing strategy have made the JD Edwards solution more affordable to the SMME companies.


Bennetts Technologies already has 5 Port Elizabeth based employees experienced in JD Edwards implementation and support, with a combined total of 40 years of JDE experience between them. The major challenge that faces Bennett’s Technologies in the next few years is to implement a training program to ensure that all their JD Edwards consultants are kept up to date with the latest enhancements included in all new releases of the ERP software. This ongoing training exercise will have to ensure that our service to customers is not compromised while consultants are engaged with training. In addition, as the JD Edwards customer base grows in the Eastern Cape, additional JD Edwards consultants will have to be employed and trained on the software functionality.


To meet consulting requirements during periods of peak demand, Bennetts Technologies has entered into a working relationship with a Durban based JD Edwards consulting group.

World Class JD Edwards ERP software is now affordable to small to medium size enterprises in the Eastern Cape. Although Bennetts Technologies has had a skilled implementation and support team since 1995, Oracle Corporation SA (Pty) Ltd has recently signed Bennetts as a business partner reselling JDE EnterpriseOne and JDE World software.


Since the acquisition of Peoplesoft and JD Edwards by Oracle, the licence pricing structure has been reviewed, making the software more affordable to small to medium size enterprises.
